Calahorra will host its latest edition of the Adolescence Days from 22 October to 6 November, organised by the local council in collaboration with the city's educational centres. This year's theme is mental health, aiming to provide a forum for analysis and discussion on the complexities of adolescence, highlighting its positive aspects as a crucial stage for personal development, and encouraging adolescent participation in the planning of activities.
The initiative also seeks to foster connections among young people, families, educators, and public administration. This year's programme includes educational activities in schools, film screenings, and a slogan competition focused on mental health.
Starting on 22 October, psychologist Raquel Falcó from the University of La Rioja will conduct workshops on mental health in local schools, aimed at helping students reflect on emotional well-being. These sessions will target students in their fourth year of secondary education and those in the baccalaureate programme.
On 22 and 23 October, the film 'Litus', directed by Dani de la Orden, will be screened at Arcca cinemas. The film tells the story of a group of friends reuniting three months after the suicide of one of their own, revealing long-hidden secrets and tensions. The cast includes Álex García, Adrián Lastra, Belén Cuesta, Quim Gutiérrez, Miquel Fernández, and Marta Nieto.
There will be two screenings: one for secondary school students on the morning of 23 October, and another open to the public on 22 October at 20:00. Invitations for the public screening can be collected at Arcca cinemas from 15 to 21 October. The Adolescence Days programme will also feature a slogan competition centred on mental health.
