The ProReyes Magos Cultural Association celebrated its 25th anniversary with an official gala held at the Atalaya Museums on 24 October, attended by approximately 260 guests, including institutional representatives, associations, brotherhoods, parents' associations, businesses, and various community members from Jerez.
Notable attendees included Agustín Muñoz, the first deputy mayor; Susana Sánchez Toro, deputy mayor and provincial deputy for Equality; and Yéssica Quintero, councillor for Social Inclusion, Dependency, Elderly and Family. The event showcased the strong ties that RAÍCES has built over the past quarter-century with the local community.
The gala provided an opportunity to reflect on the organisation's three core pillars: support for rural Jerez, social and charitable action, and the preservation of culture, traditions, and the history of the Three Wise Men.
Agustín Muñoz emphasised the importance of having more associations dedicated to their communities, highlighting the significant contributions RAÍCES has made to the city and its residents over the years. Susana Sánchez addressed the association's connection to rural areas, noting their annual efforts to deliver gifts, sweets, and warmth to local residents, particularly the elderly and children.
Yéssica Quintero discussed the social and charitable activities carried out by the association, which have consistently demonstrated a commitment to the community. Rafael López Gómez, the president and founder of RAÍCES, shared a retrospective of the organisation's 25-year journey, filled with anecdotes and memories that illustrated its impact on various groups in Jerez.
The gala served as a collective recognition of those who have contributed to the spirit of RAÍCES, working for the betterment of others, preserving traditions, and bringing joy to those in need.
