Xosé Merelles, the director of Tourism for Galicia, held a meeting with Francisco José Fernández Pérez, the mayor of Leiro, Avelino Carballal, president of the local entity in Berán, and representatives from the Berán Spa to explore the potential of revitalising thermal activities to enhance the municipality's tourist appeal.
The discussions focused on integrating the new thermal offerings with the region's cultural, gastronomic, and wine tourism resources, as well as the various experiences available to visitors in the O Ribeiro area.
Key topics included the management of the Berán Spa and plans for a pedestrian bridge connecting the parish of Leiro with San Clodio. This infrastructure aims to improve connectivity between the two locations, facilitating mobility while promoting the area's tourist and scenic resources.
These initiatives are designed to diversify the local tourism offering, enhance the value of local resources, and contribute to the economic development of O Ribeiro.
