Fira de Mostres de Girona celebrates 64th edition with 284 exhibitors

The 64th edition of the Fira de Mostres de Girona is set to take place from 29 October to 1 November, showcasing 284 exhibitors from various sectors including services, construction, and food. The fair will be open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.

This year’s event will see the return of the stand competition, alongside a new virtual reality experience and a dedicated health area. The municipal stand, presented by the Servei de Llengua Catalana, will feature the new Joc de Fires game aimed at promoting the use of Catalan in the region.

With 80% of exhibitors returning from previous years, the fair reflects the strong loyalty of the Girona business community. The event will also include workshops, round tables, product presentations, and tasting sessions featuring local products from the Girona Excel·lent food label.

Exhibitor participation and activities

The fair will occupy a total exhibition area of 7,900 square metres, combining indoor and outdoor spaces at the Palau de Fires and Devesa. The event is a key highlight of the annual Fires de Sant Narcís celebrations, serving as a significant showcase for the Girona business landscape.

Mayor Lluc Salellas y Vilar emphasised the fair's role as a commercial meeting point and a reflection of the dynamic, innovative sectors in the region. Jaume Fàbrega, President of the Girona Chamber of Commerce, noted the fair's stability amidst economic uncertainty, highlighting the high rate of exhibitor retention.

New features and experiences

This year, the fair will expand its gastronomic offerings with food trucks providing a variety of cuisines, including burgers, crepes, and tapas. Additionally, the outdoor dome will host more musical and artistic performances from emerging local talent.

The Espacio Fundación "la Caixa" will celebrate its 15th anniversary with various activities, including initiatives aimed at reducing loneliness among the elderly. The fair will also introduce a new health sector area where companies can present their products in short sessions.

Community engagement and competitions

The Servei de Llengua Catalana will lead the municipal stand with activities to engage the public and promote Catalan language use. A free session to play the new Joc de Fires game will take place on 29 October, with prizes for participants.

For the first time, the Fira will feature a stand from the Union Deportiva Arlequins de Perpiñán, a rugby team from Northern Catalonia, offering activities and competitions for visitors. The fair will also showcase a virtual reality experience titled "Los Ojos de la Historia," highlighting Catalonia's cultural heritage.

Exhibitors will compete for awards in categories such as originality and design, with winners announced on 30 October during a cocktail event for exhibitors. A new networking event will also facilitate connections among participating companies.
