photographic competition 'my favourite corner of rivas vaciamadrid' returns for 2026 calendar

The 'my favourite corner of rivas vaciamadrid' photographic competition is back, encouraging participants to focus on their favourite activities within the city. This year’s theme invites submissions that reflect daily life in Rivas, from enjoying the cherry blossoms along local avenues to family gatherings and community interactions.

Participants are encouraged to capture scenes that express a sense of community and connection to public spaces. The competition, titled 'common perspectives', aims to freeze moments of everyday life that showcase both routine and spontaneity.

A jury composed of municipal staff will select the photographs that will be included in the 2026 institutional calendar, which will be distributed to all households in the city alongside the January edition of the magazine 'Rivas al Día'. This year’s competition introduces a new feature: selected photographs will also be part of an exhibition at the Ágora Rivas urban imagination festival, taking place from 15 to 18 October in the Plaza de la Constitución. The festival aims to provide a platform for reflection on the city's future through talks, workshops, round tables, and performances.

Technical requirements

The 'common perspectives' competition is open to adults registered in Rivas Vaciamadrid. Participants may submit a maximum of two photographs in JPG format, landscape orientation, either in colour or black and white. The file names must include the title of the work without any personal information.

Photographs must not be digitally altered or produced by artificial intelligence, although minimal adjustments to brightness and colour are permitted. In case of any doubts, the photographer may be asked to provide the RAW file.

The Rivas Vaciamadrid City Council reserves the rights to use and reproduce all photographs that meet the quality standards set by the jury, not just those selected for the calendar. Selected photographs may also be published on municipal social media, the official website rivasciudad.es, and other municipal communication platforms related to the competition.

The submission period runs from Monday, 8 September, to Tuesday, 30 September, at inscripciones.rivasciudad.es.
