Domínguez highlights self-employed workers as the driving force of Jaén

The president of the Partido Popular (PP) in Jaén, Erik Domínguez, has positioned self-employed workers as a vital component of the local economy during a recent meeting with the Plataforma por la Dignidad de los Autónomos 30N in Linares. He contrasted the PP's proposals with what he described as the 'fiscal hell' imposed by the current government led by Pedro Sánchez.

During the meeting, which included local PP president and mayor Auxi del Olmo and provincial deputy Raúl Caro-Accino, Domínguez outlined the party's commitment to supporting self-employed individuals. He stated, 'Alberto Núñez Feijóo will be the best ally for the province and for self-employed workers against the unbearable looting and punishment of Pedro Sánchez.'

Domínguez emphasised the PP's clear agenda: 'Tax cuts, yes or yes, and a reduction in administrative and bureaucratic procedures, yes or yes.' Among the proposals from Feijóo, he highlighted the exemption from VAT for self-employed individuals earning less than €85,000, the simplification of annual declarations from four to two or even one, and a zero-rate tax for individuals under 35 starting their own businesses.

Drawing on his personal experience from a family of self-employed workers, Domínguez expressed his understanding of the challenges faced by this group. 'I know how tough it is, and that's why, in addition to explaining our proposals, we come to listen and gather their demands,' he noted.

He also contrasted these proposals with the socialist management in the Diputación de Jaén, where direct aid for self-employed individuals was eliminated three years ago. Domínguez lamented the decline caused by the central government, which he claims has particularly affected a group 'squeezed by fiscal hell and bureaucracy.' He urged self-employed workers to seize the opportunity on 29 November to change the course of Spain and adopt the model of Juanma Moreno, which has seen Jaén surpass 43,000 self-employed workers.

'Self-employed workers are the engine of Jaén. Those who create jobs need fewer obstacles and more support, not more taxes and bureaucracy,' he asserted.

Auxi del Olmo reiterated the importance of continually listening to the needs of those who drive the local economy. 'The PP is the party of the self-employed, and we will continue to roll out the red carpet for their work,' she concluded.
