Córdoba launches photographic solidarity rally to support local community

The Diputación de Córdoba has announced the launch of the ‘Santaella es tu objetivo 2026’ photographic solidarity rally, an initiative designed to support the local community and promote the cultural heritage of Santaella. This event is organised by the Asociación Cultural Enfoke Kreativo and aims to engage residents while collecting essential food items for those in need.

During the presentation, Auxiliadora Moreno, the provincial delegate for Equality, Development Cooperation, Consumer Affairs, and Citizen Participation, emphasised the importance of community-driven projects that foster participation and create a tangible social impact. She stated, “The Diputación wants to support associations like Enfoke Kreativo, which unite culture, solidarity, heritage promotion, and citizen participation around a single initiative.”

One of the unique aspects of this rally is its charitable nature. Instead of a monetary registration fee, participants are required to donate two kilograms of non-perishable food, children's products, or essential items, which will be distributed to Cáritas Parroquial and the Food Bank. Previous editions of the rally have successfully collected over 600 kilograms of food.

Moreno highlighted that this event demonstrates how culture and citizen participation can serve as tools for solidarity and commitment to those in need. The rally also transforms Santaella into a focal point for participants, who will explore its streets, monuments, and unique spaces, capturing the municipality's heritage, landscapes, and daily life through their cameras.

The initiative is supported by the Santaella Town Hall, which has arranged special visiting hours for participants to photograph sites such as the Local Historical Museum, the Parish of the Assumption, and the Sanctuary of the Valley. Local residents will also contribute by opening their patios, balconies, and even posing for photographs, enhancing the community spirit of the event.

Moreno noted that the rally has gained popularity, with over 112 participants registered in the previous edition. The photographs taken will be shared with the Santaella Town Hall while respecting the photographers' rights, contributing to the town's tourism catalogue. Participants will also promote their images on social media using hashtags like #santaellaestuobjetivo and #santaella, further increasing the visibility of the town and its heritage.

In conclusion, the Diputación expressed gratitude to Cristóbal Río Bermudo, president of the Asociación Cultural Enfoke Kreativo, and the town hall for their collaboration. Río remarked, “We believe this rally is well-established; from the beginning, we wanted it to be charitable, opting for food donations instead of a registration fee, especially as we approach the Christmas season when many families are in need.” He also paid tribute to their late member, Juan Luis Seco, whose memory inspired the continuation of this event.
