Comunidad de Madrid hosts radar madrid with over 100 international music industry agents

Comunidad de Madrid is hosting radar madrid from 19 to 21 October, a new international professional meeting that gathers over 100 agents from the music industry to facilitate business opportunities for artists and companies.

The regional Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport, Mariano de Paco Serrano, visited the event at the Movistar Arena, highlighting the music sector's economic value of €1.94 billion in the region. Promoted by the regional government and organised by the platform Charco, radar madrid combines professional meetings with over 30 live performances across five venues affiliated with Madrid en Vivo.

The programme features international guests and focuses on strengthening relationships between Spain, Latin America, the United States, and Europe. This initiative aims to connect artists and companies with programmers, festivals, and agents from other countries to showcase their proposals and explore contracting opportunities abroad.

“We must support the sector so that the talent and companies in the region can expand their national and international reach,”

- Mariano de Paco Serrano

De Paco Serrano also announced that funding aimed at improving the competitiveness of the music industry will increase by over 40% between 2026 and 2028. According to the report La Comunidad de Madrid suena a futuro: Estudio de impacto socioeconómico de la industria musical, prepared by EY for the regional government, the sector contributes €1.94 billion in gross added value, including direct, indirect, and induced effects. For every euro generated directly by this activity, an additional two are produced in the wider economy.

The music sector comprises 7,854 companies and supports 21,815 jobs, with each direct job creating an additional 2.5 jobs in various economic activities. Its fiscal impact amounts to €695 million. In 2025, Comunidad de Madrid recorded nearly 35,000 concerts and 6.9 million attendees, according to the SGAE Annual Report. Ticket sales generated €237 million last year, with small and medium-sized venues attracting 2.8 million people, nearly 40% of the total audience.

Movistar Arena ranked second worldwide in terms of ticket sales last year. It is estimated that 57% of attendees are residents of the region, while 43% come from outside: 23% from other autonomous communities and 20% from abroad. This means that around three million attendees travel to Comunidad de Madrid, generating a tourism-related expenditure of €1.713 billion associated with concert attendance.
