Ceuta participates in regional economy and politics forum in Melilla

The Autonomous City of Ceuta is participating in the Regional Economy and Politics Forum, which commenced on Wednesday in Melilla. This semi-annual event gathers the administrations responsible for managing European funds in Spain to share experiences and enhance coordination of community financing programmes.

Ceuta's delegation is led by Guillermo Martínez, the European Funds Coordinator of the public company Procesa, which operates under the Ministry of Finance, Economic Transition, and Digital Transformation, alongside a technical expert from the organisation.

The forum features various presentations and working sessions centred on the execution of European funds, management and control systems, expenditure forecasts, and strategic priorities for the 2021-2027 programming period. Topics discussed also include verification processes, audits, evaluations, the Interreg programme, and communication regarding projects funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Additionally, the forum serves as a platform for exchanging experiences between the Managing Authority and regional intermediary organisations, aiming to improve procedures and strengthen coordination among the administrations involved in the implementation of community funds.

Furthermore, Ceuta will host the Monitoring Committee meeting for the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) on 4 and 5 November, which pertains to the 2021-2027 period. This meeting will include representatives from the European Social Fund Administrative Unit (UAFSE) and the European Commission, along with site visits to projects prior to the working session.
