The Castilla-La Mancha library is celebrating its 28th anniversary with a special programme at the Toledo Book Fair, showcasing its significance in the cultural and educational landscape of the city.
This year, the library's presence at the fair includes a dedicated stand that aims to engage the public more closely, commemorating nearly three decades of shared culture, knowledge, and experiences. Visitors to the stand can learn more about the library, which is located in the historic Alcázar of Toledo, and discover the various services it offers, including lending, consultations, and a range of activities throughout the year such as conferences and storytelling sessions.
María Castaño, the provincial delegate for Finance, Public Administration, and Digital Transformation, attended the inauguration of the Toledo Book Fair and emphasised the library's vital role in the cultural and educational life of Toledo. She encouraged both locals and visitors from other areas to visit the stand and the library itself.
Castaño highlighted that the regional library in the capital of Castilla-La Mancha is the most important library in the region and one of the most notable in Spain. This assertion is supported by data indicating that since its opening, the library has welcomed over 7 million visitors, managed more than 5.3 million loans, and hosted 18,760 cultural activities.
