The historic Beti Jai fronton will once again serve as a venue for traditional Basque sports, hosting exhibitions of handball and frontenis on 24 and 25 October. This initiative, organised by the Madrid City Council in collaboration with the Madrid Federation of Pelota, will feature a total of eight matches across both sports, scheduled for morning and afternoon sessions at 10:30, 12:00, 15:30, and 17:00 on both days.
The exhibitions will showcase athletes from various categories, providing attendees with a representative glimpse into these disciplines. Tickets for the events will be free and can be reserved starting today, 21 October, at 12:00. Members of the public can book their places for any of the scheduled sessions until the venue's capacity is reached.
Approximately 1,200 spectators are expected to attend over the weekend, enjoying these sporting exhibitions at the Beti Jai fronton, one of Madrid's most unique and emblematic cultural heritage sites. Declared a Cultural Asset of Interest, it stands as a unique example of late 19th-century sports architecture and is one of the most significant spaces in the history of pelota in Spain.
These exhibitions were initially scheduled for early October but were postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
