The Valencian Institute of Tourist Technologies (Invat·tur) attended the 'Benissa es transforma' event on 24 September, celebrating the conclusion of the Destination Sustainability Tourism Plan (PSTD) in Benissa. This initiative has mobilised €2.45 million and facilitated the development of 23 actions aimed at advancing towards a more sustainable, innovative, and intelligent tourism model.

Invat·tur's presence at the event underscores the support provided by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana to the region's tourist destinations, as well as the institute's interest in firsthand knowledge of the results and lessons learned from projects developed by municipalities under European funding.

The PSTD in Benissa has enabled actions across various areas, including efficient water management, fire prevention, public space improvement, accessibility, sports tourism, and the enhancement of natural and cultural resources. It has also incorporated solutions related to smart tourism.

Among the initiatives implemented are tools related to destination knowledge and management, strengthening the municipality's capacity to progress towards tourism management supported by innovation and technology.

Benissa's experience highlights the cross-cutting nature of the Destination Sustainability Tourism Plans, which promote actions that extend beyond tourism promotion and impact areas related to territory, environment, public services, mobility, heritage, and the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Invat·tur emphasises the importance of sharing experiences developed by destinations, fostering knowledge transfer and best practices within the tourism ecosystem of the Comunitat Valenciana. The conclusion of the PSTD now opens a new chapter for Benissa, allowing the municipality to consolidate the actions executed and continue advancing towards a more sustainable, accessible, innovative destination, ready to face the new challenges of tourism activity.
