José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the mayor of Madrid, showcased the ongoing works of Parque Ventas to representatives from more than thirty Ibero-American cities this morning. The presentation took place during the II Ibero-American Cities Meeting, held in the Spanish capital.
Parque Ventas, currently under urbanisation, is a project initiated by the Madrid City Council to create a 16,370 m² green space over the M-30 motorway. This new park aims to connect the Salamanca and Ciudad Lineal districts both pedestrianly and aesthetically.
The development will feature eight pedestrian bridges and one cycling bridge, along with landscaped areas that will include 960 trees and over 48,800 shrubs. In addition to the park itself, the project encompasses the renovation of both banks of the ring road in the Salamanca and Ciudad Lineal districts, covering an additional 40,300 m².
Work on the project commenced in late June 2025 and is expected to be completed by spring 2027.
