Xunta highlights the impact of Activa Comercio vouchers on local sales in Vigo

Gabriel Alén, the director general of Commerce and Consumption, along with Ana Ortiz, the Xunta's delegate in Vigo, recently visited the Dadá shoe shop and the Librouro bookstore, both of which are part of the second edition of the Activa Comercio vouchers for 2026. During the visit, Alén highlighted the importance of this initiative in boosting sales for local businesses.

Since its launch at 9:00 AM on 28 October, over 2,500 establishments across the province of Pontevedra have joined the scheme, resulting in more than €882,000 in discounts being redeemed and a total sales mobilisation of around €4 million. In Vigo alone, more than 575 businesses have participated, with approximately €250,000 in discounts redeemed and over €1 million in sales generated.

Alén noted that, similar to 2025, businesses only need to register once for all editions within the year, streamlining the process. Those wishing to join can do so until 15 December or until the allocated budget of €2.5 million is exhausted. He added that this budget is expected to generate three times the amount in sales, following the success of the previous €2.5 million allocation in May.

Details of the Activa Comercio vouchers

The Activa Comercio vouchers can be accessed through the website www.bonosactivacomercio.gal. The value of the discount decreases based on the purchase amount. For purchases of €20 to €30, a €5 discount applies; for purchases of €30 to €50, the discount is €10; and for purchases above €50, the discount reaches €15. Each individual can download only one voucher, and while there is no limit on the number of users, once the total budget of €2.5 million is depleted, any downloaded vouchers will no longer be valid, even if not fully used. Additionally, the Activa Comercio vouchers cannot be combined with other subsidies for the same purchase.

Meeting with Vigo merchants

Prior to the visits to the shops, Ana Ortiz and Gabriel Alén held a meeting with local merchants to inform them about the available regional support. The meeting, which took place at the administrative building of the Territorial Delegation, included representatives from the Pontevedra Merchants Federation and various neighbourhood associations from Vigo, including As Travesas, Navia, Zona Xeral, Torrecedeira, Zona Náutico, Teis, Vigo Centro, O Calvario, Zona Príncipe, Casco Vello, and Bouzas. Merchants from Salceda de Caselas, Baiona, O Porriño, and the Pontevedra Business Association were also invited to attend.
