The Palacio de la Merced, home to the Diputación de Córdoba, hosted the presentation of the VII Bienal de Teatro Musical de Posadas, an initiative that is now in its seventh edition. This year’s event will run from 8 to 28 November at the Alcalde Felipe Pérez Fernández Municipal Auditorium.
Gabriel Duque, the provincial cultural delegate, highlighted that “throughout November, we will have the opportunity to enjoy amateur musical theatre, thanks to our Singular Programmes.” He also noted that the Palma Superstar company from Palma del Río will participate, supported by the provincial institution, and will perform in various towns across the province.
Health Navajas, the councillor for Culture and Celebrations, Education, Training, Heritage and Tourism in the Posadas Town Hall, emphasised that “we are facing one of our major cultural projects, our most unique and identifying proposal.” She insisted that “this initiative is the only biennial musical theatre event in Spain. An activity that is recognised for its quality thanks to the endorsement from Escenamateur, which will allow us to enjoy six theatrical proposals from companies based in Córdoba, Seville, and Madrid.”
Manuel Romero, the initiative’s coordinator, detailed the programme, which will kick off on 8 November with 'Superstar' by Palma Superstar, followed by 'El despertar de la primavera' on 14 November by Somnis; 'Diario de una camarera' on 15 November by DarteArte; 'Anastasia, la princesa Romanov' on 21 November by Musicales 3C; and 'Lo hacemos y ya vemos' on 22 November by Escaparteatro. The event will conclude on 28 November with the Grand Gala of Musical Theatre of Andalucía, featuring the show 'Érase una vez un musical' performed by the Ziryab Choir and the Córdoba-based company Humanella.
The winning group will receive the Bienal de Oro Award, recognising the best amateur musical theatre production in Spain. Tickets are priced at €6 per performance and can be purchased through Entradium, the Esfiga Teatro Musical website, or at the auditorium box office one hour before each show.
