The Tocats de Lletra poetry festival is set to conclude its 20th edition with the closing performance 'Tants vincles', scheduled for Friday, 30 October at 20:30 in the Teatre Conservatori. A diverse group of ten poets from various generations, including Biel Mesquida, Maria Callís, Josep Pedrals, Blanca Llum Vidal, Xavier Mas Craviotto, Àngels Gregori, Sònia Moya, Teresa Pascual, Pol Guasch, and Francesc Parcerisas, will celebrate the festival's two decades alongside renowned pianists Manel Camp and Clara Peya.
This event will honour the connections forged between poets, readers, organisers, and a city that has embraced poetry as a way of life. Since its inception on 19 October, the festival has presented a rich and varied programme, featuring poetry readings, literary discussions, and multidisciplinary proposals for audiences of all ages, continuing until Sunday, 1 November.
Among the highlights leading up to the finale is the established Nit Estellés, taking place on Thursday, 29 October at 20:00 in the Sala Petita of the Kursaal. This recital pays tribute to the Valencian poet Vicent Andrés Estellés and will feature a wider array of voices than ever, with poets Maria Josep Escrivà, Mario Obrero, Begonya Pozo, and Josep Lluís Roig, accompanied musically by Borja Penalba, focusing on the Valencian region.
This year, Manresa is showing solidarity with communities affected by recent flooding in the Valencian region. Many participating poets hail from municipalities in the Safor area, and during the event, a reverse box office will be set up to collect funds for purchasing Catalan books for schools impacted by the recent floods.
