On 1 and 2 November, Tomelloso will host the fourth edition of Paseos por el Cementerio, an initiative led by the Citra theatre group in partnership with the municipal departments of Culture, the Municipal Archive, and the Cemetery.
This event has garnered significant interest among the residents of Tomelloso since its inception, serving as a means of memory and recognition. Previous editions have seen all available spots filled, reflecting the community's desire to connect with its history and honour those who have contributed to the city's development.
The Councillor for Culture emphasised that this is not merely a theatrical visit but primarily “an exercise in memory, recognition, and gratitude.” The Paseos will offer insights into the lives of notable individuals from Tomelloso who have left their mark through their work, talent, generosity, or commitment.
The initiative aims to recover and share their stories, fostering a deeper understanding of Tomelloso's roots and ensuring that these individuals are remembered beyond their names on gravestones or street signs.
