The Casas de la Música throughout Catalonia have opened applications for the 2027 Music Creation Grants aimed at emerging artists and groups. This initiative offers resources and support to boost musical projects and facilitate the professionalisation of music creators.
Proposals can be submitted until 15 December 2026, with support available for recording music, preparing live performances, or producing audiovisual content. Specifically, the Casa de la Música in L'Hospitalet provides studio hours for recording, mixing, and mastering tracks, along with technical and production advice. Additionally, it offers performance spaces and professional equipment for live shows, with technical, musical, and scenic support.
Artists can also apply for funding to create music videos or other promotional audiovisual materials. Another funding option, in collaboration with the SGAE Foundation, grants €1,000 to authors of any musical genre to dedicate time to creating new works. Applicants must document their creative process and register their compositions with SGAE.
Applications will be assessed based on criteria such as originality, artistic and technical quality, project viability, and the potential impact of the grant on the artists' professional development. Selected candidates may also receive guidance in areas such as distribution, contracting, and music promotion.
The deadline for applications is 15 December 2026, with the results of direct application modalities to be announced on 23 February 2027. Selected projects will be developed throughout the following year.
In the previous edition, the initiative received over 800 applications and awarded 120 grants. Over the past decade, the Casas de la Música have supported more than 1,000 grants for emerging artists and projects. Notable names that have benefited from their support programmes or performed on their stages include Ginestà, Queralt Lahoz, Lia Kali, Maruja Limón, and Meritxell Neddermann.
