In recognition of 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the town hall of Moralzarzal and the THAM (Teatro de la Historia y las Artes de Moralzarzal) are launching a programme of activities designed to promote awareness and critical reflection on gender-based violence.
Programme highlights
This year's initiative features a variety of events, including theatre, online training sessions, dramatic readings, and the 19th edition of the traditional micro-story competition.
Theatre performance: 'Burladas'
A key highlight of the cultural programme is the performance of 'Burladas', which aims to give voice to women who have historically been silenced through a reinterpretation of the myths surrounding Don Juan. The play focuses on five female characters from 'Don Juan Tenorio' and 'El Burlador de Sevilla' (Doña Ana, Tisbea, Isabela, Aminta, and Doña Inés), connecting their stories to the present and the real-life experiences of women today.
