El Hierro is experiencing significant growth in tourism, which has resulted in challenges for travellers seeking to visit the island on weekends. Over the next four months, there are no available seats for flights to El Hierro on Friday afternoons, with returns on Sundays.

Travel agent Daniel Morales noted that the last flight from El Hierro departs at 16:45 from Tenerife and is the most sought-after. The increase in visitors has been particularly pronounced since the pandemic, with more tourists arriving each year.

Davinia Suárez, the island's Councillor for Tourism, Transport and Communications, highlighted that both the resident and tourist populations have risen, partly due to the new La Peña auditorium, which attracts conference tourism. She stated, "Despite the increase in available flight seats, the supply remains insufficient."

Airline Binter has responded to the rising demand by increasing its capacity to El Hierro by over 6,000 seats compared to the previous year.
