From 20 to 29 October, local businesses in ribadeo will have the opportunity to participate in the pancha campaign, which promotes the use of the local currency. Marta Saiz, the councillor for commerce and local development, explained that the initiative aims to encourage local consumption, support the business fabric of the municipality, and contribute to the revitalisation of the local economy.
Interested establishments can apply for participation through the programme's digital platform during the specified dates. Saiz noted that only physical and permanent businesses located in ribadeo that engage in approved economic activities and meet the established regulatory requirements are eligible to join.
The involvement of local businesses is crucial for the success of this initiative. Therefore, the council encourages shops, hospitality venues, and service providers that meet the criteria to participate, thereby strengthening the local business landscape and providing citizens with new shopping opportunities in ribadeo.
Saiz highlighted that citizens will be able to purchase panchas from 1 November to 28 December via the designated platform. The council will subsidise 25% of the total value of the panchas purchased, with contributions in increments of 30 euros and a maximum aid of 300 euros per person. Each participant can acquire up to 400 panchas, equivalent to 400 euros, with a limit of 150 panchas per transaction.
Saiz stated, "With this initiative, we aim to strengthen the activities of local commerce, hospitality, and services, ensuring that a larger portion of citizens' spending remains within the municipality, thereby contributing to job maintenance, revitalising commercial spaces, and promoting year-round economic activity."
The presentation of the new edition of the pancha campaign took place at the ribadeo council and featured the participation of the mayor, Dani Vega, councillor Marta Saiz, and the president and manager of Acisa, Carmen Cruzado and Jesús Pérez. Cruzado expressed gratitude to the council, stating, "Thank you to the ribadeo council for once again involving Acisa in this important pancha campaign, now in its eighth edition. This is one of the most anticipated campaigns of the year for both the commercial and hospitality sectors, as well as for those coming to shop and consume here."
