La Buchaca, the economics and finance programme on La Radio Canaria, will welcome igor lukic, an expert in ethical hacking and co-founder of hackron, on Tuesday at 21:05. The discussion will focus on the upcoming Hackron Gran Canaria 2026, a cybersecurity event scheduled for Friday, 6 November, at Hangar 37 in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria.
Carlos Guillermo Domínguez, the programme's director, will engage lukic in a conversation about what it truly means to be an ethical hacker and how professionals protect our computer systems. The discussion will also explore the reasons behind the increasing importance of cybersecurity as a strategic activity for both the economy and businesses, as well as the role of artificial intelligence in cyberattacks.
However, the programme will not solely focus on the challenges posed by cybersecurity. Domínguez will also discuss with lukic the job opportunities available in this sector for young people in the Canary Islands and the significance of developing technological talent in the region.
The Hackron Gran Canaria 2026 event will bring together specialists and professionals for a day of knowledge sharing, experiences, and practical activities, including incident simulation exercises. Domínguez notes that the vulnerabilities in cybersecurity systems present an opportunity to reveal that behind the world of hackers, there are not only threats but also professionals, innovation, training, and new economic development opportunities.
La Buchaca serves as a weekly platform on La Radio Canaria to address economic issues that affect our daily lives.
