III premio diputación de ávila de las artes ‘florencio galindo’ opens for nominations

The official bulletin of the province has published the announcement for the III premio diputación de ávila de las artes ‘florencio galindo’. Starting tomorrow, a 20-day period will be open for submitting nominations, which can be made by any individual or legal entity that has made an outstanding and innovative contribution to the cultural life of ávila and spain.

Nominations may be submitted by local entities within the province of ávila, following agreements made by their competent bodies, as well as the president of the Junta de Castilla y León, the president of the Cortes of Castilla y León, the government delegate in Castilla y León, the director of the Gran Duque de Alba Institution, or any public or private entities, corporations, collectives, foundations, or associations based in the province.

“As with previous cultural award calls from the diputación, we invite institutions and bodies with the capacity to present nominations to do so, as these awards, now entering their third cycle, reflect the recognition of the ávila society for the work of individuals or institutions that, through their works or active participation in various fields of artistic, literary, or scientific creation, contribute to enriching the cultural heritage of our province and, by extension, of spain,” stated the cultural deputy, Javier González.

Once the nomination period concludes, and the submissions are verified for eligibility, the jury, chaired by the president of the diputación, Carlos García, will announce the winner. The premio de las artes ‘florencio galindo’ carries a prize of €3,000 and a relief sculpture titled ‘La Rosa’ by the artist from Adanero. The inaugural award was presented to painter and sculptor Antonio López, while the second award went to cantaora Carmen Linares.
