The Department of Mobility, Tourism and Territorial Planning of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council will celebrate the third edition of the Gipuzkoako Zaindari awards, an initiative aimed at highlighting individuals and organisations that promote good tourism practices in the region.
According to Azahara Domínguez, the provincial deputy, the aim is to showcase projects and paths that focus on innovation, sustainability, accessibility, collaboration between the public and private sectors, and equality, contributing to the development of a tourism model that is closer, more balanced, and committed to the identity and care of Gipuzkoa.
This new edition will maintain four categories to recognise different contributions to the improvement of the tourism sector:
- Gipuzkoako Zaindari award for professional trajectory: This award will honour individuals who have significantly contributed to establishing Gipuzkoa as a sustainable and quality tourist destination through their business or professional activities.
- Sustainable project award: This category is aimed at local and regional tourism entities that have developed responsible initiatives with a positive impact on their surroundings.
- Gipuzkoako Zaindari award for innovation: This award will recognise proposals that offer new perspectives on tourism and contribute to its transformation.
- Gipuzkoako Zaindari award for equality: This category seeks to acknowledge initiatives that improve working conditions and promote equal opportunities within the tourism sector.
Azahara Domínguez emphasised the importance of advancing towards a tourism model that prioritises the well-being and quality of life of the residents of Gipuzkoa, who wish to develop their professional projects in this sector.
Applications for the awards can be submitted until 18 November. Interested entities must register their application, duly completed and signed, through the electronic headquarters of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council.
