The cultural councillor of Torrelavega, Esther Vélez, has revealed that the fifth edition of 'Origen. La Cultura Contraataca' will conclude this weekend with performances by several folk groups. The events will take place from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October, marking the end of a programme that has brought traditional folklore to the neighbourhoods and towns of Torrelavega since September.
Vélez stated that the initiative aims to "preserve and disseminate our traditions, enjoy our identity, energise the city, and decentralise and democratise culture." She expressed gratitude for the involvement of the participating groups and encouraged the public to enjoy the final performances.
This fifth edition, which began on 5 September, has featured 16 traditional music and dance groups, with performances held in squares, churches, civic centres, and other public spaces throughout the municipality.
