The Galapagar Town Council has expressed its sorrow for the victims of the tragic train accident that occurred in Toledo, offering condolences to their families and loved ones, as well as solidarity with all those affected. In light of this tragedy, and as a sign of mourning, the municipal activities planned for Halloween have been suspended, and some scheduled events for the weekend have been modified.
This decision coincides with the three days of official mourning declared by the Spanish government, which will last from Thursday, 29 October, to Saturday, 31 October.
Ongoing and rescheduled events
Among the activities that will still take place is the Solidarity Symphony Concert by the Music Therapy and Health Foundation, scheduled for Friday, 30 October, at 19:30 in the Teatro Jacinto Benavente. This concert will pay tribute to the victims of the Toledo train accident. Tickets are priced at €12 online and €15 at the box office, which will open one hour before the concert begins.
Additionally, the children's musical “Mickey Mouse’s Party” by Producciones Impacto has been rescheduled to Sunday, 1 November, at 17:30 in the Teatro Jacinto Benavente, instead of the originally planned date of Saturday, 31 October. Tickets purchased will remain valid for the new date, and no changes are necessary. Those unable to attend on Sunday, 1 November, can request a full refund of their tickets. IMPORTANT: The deadline for refund requests is Saturday, 31 October, at 10:30 in the morning. Once the request is processed, the amount will be refunded to the account within a maximum of 48 hours.
Changes to other scheduled activities
The calendar for the “Desenredarte” experience cycle, included in the municipal programming for 25 November, has also been modified. The initial session, “The body: feeling again to find our way back,” scheduled for Thursday, 29 October, will now take place on Wednesday, 4 November, from 17:30 to 19:30 at La Posada. The remaining workshops will maintain their planned dates and times: Thursday, 5 November, “Emotions”; 12 November, “Thoughts”; 19 November, “Communication”; and 25 November, the closing session “From the knot to the next step.”
All Halloween activities scheduled for these days, including workshops by Punto Joven, literary proposals from the Ricardo León Library related to the celebration, and the horror passages, have been suspended. The Galapagar Town Council appreciates the understanding of residents regarding these changes and reiterates its heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the train accident victims.
