The Ayuntamiento de Torremolinos has launched a series of free workshops designed for young people, focusing on theatre, urban dance, and illustration and comic art. These workshops are part of a broader initiative aimed at engaging the youth of the area and will run until May 2027.

Targeted at individuals aged between 14 and 30, interested participants must register in advance via the Torremolinos Despega app or by visiting the Área Joven at the Casa de la Juventud, located on Calle María Barrabino.

workshop details

The illustration and comic workshop allows participants to explore drawing techniques, visual storytelling, and comic creation. Sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 18:30 to 20:00 at the Centro Cultural Pablo Ruiz Picasso, where attendees can experiment with various styles and materials, including both traditional and digital tools.

The theatre workshop focuses on performing arts and interpretation, providing a creative space for participants to learn theatrical skills and teamwork. This workshop takes place every Friday from 16:30 to 18:30 at the Casa de la Cultura, where participants will prepare small scenes to showcase their learning.

Additionally, the urban dance workshop will commence in the first term, featuring K-Pop dance styles. Following this, participants will learn other genres such as hip-hop, focusing on movement, coordination, rhythm, and body expression. This workshop is scheduled for Saturdays from 11:00 to 13:00 at the Caseta Aguas de Torremolinos, located in the Recinto Ferial.

circuito joven and technical training

The Área Joven is also promoting a new Circuito Joven, which includes a variety of activities such as gastronomy, crafts, sports, hiking routes, and excursions. Upcoming events include a 'Smash Burger' workshop on 17 October and a ceramics workshop on 18 October. In November, participants can join a frame decorating workshop on the 14th and a soap-making workshop on the 21st. December will feature a terrarium-making workshop on the 22nd and a silver ring-making workshop on the 28th.

Throughout the months from October to May, the programme will continue with various activities, including two themed gastronomy workshops each month, covering topics such as bao bread and Korean cuisine.

Moreover, the free technical training workshops aim to equip young people with competitive skills in high-demand sectors like 3D design, artificial intelligence, and software development. The final workshop of the year, focusing on video game programming with Unity, will run every Friday until 18 December.
