The Provincial Council of Cáceres has reiterated its dedication to innovative and accessible quality culture, aiming to reach all corners of the region and transform rural areas into spaces for artistic creation, encounters, and experimentation. This commitment was evident during a meeting between the council's president, Miguel Ángel Morales, and Mané Cisneros, director of Indómita Muestra de Cine y Cultura de la Vera, who presented the positive outcomes of the latest edition held at the end of July.
During the meeting, Cisneros reported a strong public response to the various activities, alongside significant media coverage and visibility. These results bolster the initiative's trajectory, which seeks to bring contemporary and avant-garde cultural proposals to rural areas.
Cisneros emphasised the support from the Diputación de Cáceres since the project's inception and highlighted the importance of maintaining this collaboration to further solidify a cultural offering that demonstrates quality, innovation, and avant-garde are not exclusive to large cities. She stated that the joint effort with the provincial institution is “absolutely fundamental,” sharing objectives and the belief that public administrations and private initiatives must work together to advance cultural projects with the scope and potential of Indómita.
The Diputación de Cáceres thus champions initiatives that help decentralise cultural offerings, expand access to culture, and enhance the life of municipalities. This approach acknowledges the talent and creative capacity of rural areas, viewing culture not only as a right but also as a tool to generate activity, attract visitors, and project a dynamic and contemporary image of the province.
Following the successful outcomes of the latest edition, Indómita is now preparing for its tenth anniversary, aiming to make this event special with greater visibility, impact, and the ability to reach new audiences. Cisneros expressed her desire for this tenth edition to once again assert the rural area's capacity to create and host high-level cultural proposals. This goal aligns with the Diputación de Cáceres' ongoing support for projects that make culture a driver of territorial dynamism and contribute to building a province with more opportunities, even in its smallest municipalities.
