Vigo mayor discusses cancer research initiatives with new AECC president

Abel Caballero held a meeting this morning with Blanca Ana García, the newly appointed territorial president for Galicia of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). The discussion focused on the research projects that the organisation plans to develop in Vigo, including some in partnership with the University of Vigo (Uvigo).

Also present at the meeting were Alfonso Santos, the manager of the AECC, and Yolanda Aguiar, the councillor for Social Welfare. During the discussions, the possibility of illuminating a Christmas tree in green to raise awareness for cancer was revisited, following the success of this initiative last year.
