The Teatro Gustavo Freire in Lugo will host three diverse performances throughout November, catering to various audiences, from family-friendly shows to a lyrical anthology showcasing some of the most recognizable pieces from opera and film.
Event Schedule
The programming will kick off on Saturday, November 7, with a double feature. At 5:00 PM, 'De Kiara a Simba – Tribute to The Lion King' will take the stage, followed by 'A Movie Opera' at 9:00 PM. The following week, on Saturday, November 14, families can enjoy 'Zootropolis, the Musical' at 5:00 PM.
'De Kiara a Simba – Tribute to The Lion King'
On November 7 at 5:00 PM, the beloved story from family cinema will come alive at the Gustavo Freire. This show combines singing, choreography, staging, and audience interaction, taking attendees on a journey through the songs of The Lion King movies with an original script designed for both children and adults to share the experience. The performance lasts approximately 85 minutes, and children under 24 months can attend for free, provided they do not occupy a seat.
'A Movie Opera'
Continuing that same evening at 9:00 PM, 'A Movie Opera' presents a completely different experience. This show features significant pieces from the history of lyrical music that audiences may recognize from popular films. The performance includes works such as La Traviata, The Barber of Seville, The Magic Flute, Carmen, Aida, Rigoletto, Tosca, Turandot, La Bohème, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, and West Side Story, among others. The narrative revolves around the auction of remnants from an ancient theater and the legend of a mysterious figure who once inhabited its catacombs. This performance lasts approximately 135 minutes.
'Zootropolis, the Musical'
The second weekend will focus on family audiences. On November 14 at 5:00 PM, 'Zootropolis, the Musical' will arrive at the Gustavo Freire. This story transports the audience to a vast city inhabited by various animals, where a young bunny and a clever fox embark on an adventure to uncover what is happening and restore joy to their streets. The show features live singing, dancing, characters, humor, and a narrative about friendship, collaboration, and the importance of pursuing dreams. Lasting about an hour, it is recommended for the entire family, with children under 24 months also allowed entry for free without a seat.
