photography competition enfoca pamplona open for submissions until 20 november

The enfoca pamplona photography competition is currently accepting submissions until 20 November at 23:00. The contest, organised by the Pamplona City Council through the Civivox network, seeks images that reflect personal perspectives of the city.

Participants can submit a maximum of three photographs online via the municipal culture website, www.pamplonaescultura.es. Unlike previous years, the images will not be used for the annual municipal calendar. Only original photographs that have not been published or awarded in other competitions will be accepted.

Photographs must be submitted in digital format (JPEG), with a minimum resolution of 720 dpi and a maximum file size of 2MB. Specific dimensions are required: 794x1077 pixels (28x38 cm) for vertical images and 1077x794 pixels (38x28 cm) for horizontal images. These submissions will be evaluated for the competition, and any winning or selected photographs will need to be provided in high resolution upon request.

Entrants must complete a registration form with personal details, including date and place of birth, address, phone number, and email. Additionally, they must specify the date and location of the photograph, along with a brief description. It is essential to indicate the location to assist the jury in their assessment. Participants are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions from individuals appearing in their photographs.

The competition offers three monetary prizes of €900, €600, and €500 for the best photographs. A jury composed of photography professionals and technical staff from the Pamplona City Council will evaluate submissions based on composition, lighting, diversity of viewpoints, and other relevant criteria. The awards ceremony is scheduled for December at a Civivox centre.

Last year, the competition received 469 photographs from 181 participants, with 44% submitted by women and 56% by men. The first prize was awarded to Oihane Sanz de Galdeano Echeverría for her aerial shot titled ‘El primer velo blanco’, depicting snow-covered rooftops on Curia Street. The second prize went to Óscar Manso for ‘El callejón de las almas perdidas’, taken in the Seminario passage, while the third prize was awarded to Oleksandr Basharov for ‘Jacob’s Ladder’, an image captured in the Pamplona cemetery. Additionally, four special mentions were given to Manuel Matute Royo, Kike Balenzategui Arbizu, Ivan Aguinaga Suberviola, and Naroa Oquiñena Iturbide.
