The Russafa Municipal Board will host the second edition of the Russafa photographic marathon on 7 November, starting at 10 am. This event aims to showcase the Mercat de Russafa, a vibrant hub for locals, traders, and visitors alike.
Participants will have the opportunity to capture the market's infrastructure, commercial activities, traditional trades, and the human connections that define this space. The competition will award three prizes in photographic equipment: €300, €200, and €100. A jury will assess entries based on technical and artistic quality, originality, and the ability to reflect the proposed theme.
All photographs submitted must be original and unedited. Paula Llobet, president of the Russafa Municipal Board, emphasised the power of imagery, stating, “Through an image, we can tell many stories: the story of a traditional shop, the people who meet every morning at the market, or the small gestures that build the life of a neighbourhood.” She also highlighted that culture is “a fundamental tool for giving visibility to our identity, our traditions, and our communal spaces.”
The registration deadline is 3 November. Interested individuals should email jmruzafa@valencia.es with their full name, ID number, and the subject line: “Inscripción Maratón Fotográfico Russafa 2026.”
