El Mercat, a service under the Youth Department of the Lleida City Council, has announced the casting call "The Voice of the Official Song of the Fiesta Mayor de Lleida 2027". This initiative aims to select the individual who will perform the official song for the upcoming festival.
The casting is open to young residents of Lleida aged between 18 and 30, who can submit their applications free of charge until 3 December 2026. Auditions will take place on 17 December 2026 at the El Mercat facilities.
During the auditions, participants will be required to perform three songs of their choice in front of a jury composed of music and cultural professionals, as well as the song's author. The jury will evaluate vocal quality, interpretative ability, stage presence, artistic suitability for the project, and the potential for artistic development as a new voice or emerging talent.
Xavi Blanco, the Youth Councillor, stated, "With this initiative, we want to turn the Official Song of the Fiesta Mayor into a launch platform for young talents in Lleida. Our city has significant creative potential, and we believe institutions should create spaces and projects for this talent to grow, showcase itself, and connect with the public."
The selected individual will not only become the voice of the Official Song for the Fiesta Mayor de Lleida 2027 but will also participate in the studio recording of the track and associated promotional activities. They will be featured in key events of the festival, including the Official Opening Speech and a performance of the song on the main stage.
As recognition for their participation, the winner will receive a prize of €1,000 gross, along with the opportunity to be part of a project with significant public and cultural projection in the city. This initiative aligns with the efforts of El Mercat to promote youth musical creation and support emerging talents in Lleida by providing spaces, resources, and opportunities for artistic development.
