On 18 December 2026, at 19:00, Laboral Cinemateca will present a special programme of free short films at the Paraninfo of Laboral, marking the celebration of el Día + Corto del Año, which takes place each year on 21 December in line with the traditional winter solstice.
The special programme will run throughout the weekend, featuring a special session with the Avilés Acción Festival on Friday 18, followed by a selection of recent Asturian short films included in the current catalogue of Laboral Cinemateca Cortos on Saturday 19. The weekend will conclude on Sunday 20 with the classic afternoon dedicated to 'Pequeños de cine', showcasing a collection of animated shorts for younger audiences as part of the regular children's programming.
