Divertia Gijón has announced an increase in the prize money for the float and music band competitions of Antroxu 2027, with a total prize fund now reaching €64,750, up from €54,340 in the previous edition. This marks an increase of €10,410, or 19.2% compared to 2026.
Additionally, the number of groups recognised in the music band contest has been expanded from 14 to 16. Jesús Martínez Salvador, president of Divertia, stated, “This enhancement in the prizes is a way to recognise the efforts of the groups that work collectively to keep the essence of Antroxu alive, a festival of regional tourist interest that is part of the soul of Gijón. With this, we reaffirm our commitment to a participative, creative carnival rooted in our identity.”
