The 'De campus a campus' race, organised by the Universitat de Lleida (UdL), is set to welcome around 1,000 participants this Sunday, 25 October, according to the Student Council. The 5-kilometre route will connect the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria Agroalimentària, Forestal i de Veterinària (ETSEAFiV) with Cappont, passing through the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Rectorate.
The race will traverse several streets including Avinguda Rovira Roure, Carrer Enric Farreny, Carrer Onze de Setembre, Carrer Doctor Fleming, Carrer Magí Morera, Carrer Ramon i Cajal, Rambla d'Aragó, Carrer Jaume II, Carrer Andreu d'Espens, and Carrer Pere de Cabrera. This marks the first urban course since the Student Council organised a popular race along the Segre River canal in 2025, commemorating the 725th anniversary of the foundation of the Estudi General.
Berta Ballart, the current president of the Student Council, expressed her satisfaction with the response to this initiative, stating, "We did not expect to reach so many registrations for this community event that goes beyond the UdL." She added, "The route allows participants to explore almost the entire city while passing through our campuses."
The race can be completed in either a popular or competitive (timed) format. Participants can collect their race numbers today at the Edifici Polivalent 1 in Cappont, from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00. Numbers will also be available on the day of the race at the ETSEAFiV starting point, between 08:00 and 09:00.
Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each individual category, both female and male, including overall, UdL students, and PTGAS/PDI UdL categories. Additionally, a trophy will be awarded to the UdL centre with the best results, based on the combined positions of the top five women and men.
