The Canary Islands are gearing up for a bustling November bridge, with more than 5,500 flights scheduled across the archipelago's airports. This marks an 8.2% increase from the same period last year, reflecting a surge in air travel.
Gran Canaria and Tenerife are expected to experience the highest volume of air traffic, followed by Lanzarote. The busiest day for travel is anticipated to be Saturday, as many people take advantage of the long weekend.
In addition to air travel, maritime companies are also preparing for increased passenger numbers. Fred. Olsen expects to transport over 55,000 passengers during this period, while Baleària anticipates exceeding 25,000 travellers.
Many holidaymakers are using this time to escape their routines. One passenger noted, “I absolutely needed a break from work,” while others are looking forward to spending quality time with family and friends. “The kids, and enjoying time with family and friends,” said another traveller.
Food is also a significant part of the plans for many visitors. One passenger mentioned, “Going to the guachinches to eat, that’s the best part, the food is great there.” Others are seizing the opportunity to explore new islands, with one traveller expressing excitement about visiting Lanzarote for the first time: “To disconnect a bit, relax, and get to know Lanzarote, which we haven’t visited yet.”
