The UCAM Torrejón women's volleyball team, competing in Superliga 2, has begun the season on a high note by winning the Copa Comunidad de Madrid. This victory marks their second title in this competition, the first being in 2019.
The final match took place on September 26 and 27 at the Polideportivo Majalastablas in Los Molinos, where the team triumphed over FEEL Alcobendas.
In addition to their cup success, the team also won their first league match against CVB Barça with a convincing score of 3-0.
Another highlight for the club was the performance of their 1ª Autonómica women's team, which finished as runners-up in the inaugural Copa Federación, losing the final to Club Voleibol Alcalá at the Caja Mágica.
“Congratulations to the Club Voleibol Torrejón for this brilliant start to the season. The title in the Copa Comunidad de Madrid for the Superliga 2 team and the runner-up position in the Copa Federación for the 1ª Autonómica team demonstrate that the Torrejón club is at the elite level of Madrid volleyball,” said Alejandro Navarro, the mayor of Torrejón de Ardoz.
Miriam Gutiérrez, the councilor for Sports and Tourism, noted that “the Superliga 2 team was the runner-up in the Copa Princesa last season in a brilliant tournament held at the Pabellón José Antonio Paraíso.”
