Torrejón de Ardoz, 7 October 2026 — The city of Torrejón de Ardoz has reported its lowest unemployment rate for the month of September in 18 years, standing at 6.47%. This marks a significant decrease in the number of unemployed residents, which has fallen from 13,912 in 2013 to 6,414 today.
Despite a traditional rise in unemployment during this month, the overall number of jobless individuals in Torrejón has been halved over the past decade. The active population in the city has also increased by 7,510, bringing the total to 99,130 residents.
In September 2026, the unemployment rate increased by 96 individuals compared to the previous month. However, this figure still reflects the lowest unemployment rate recorded for September in the last 17 years.
