The Consuegra Petanque Club recently held its individual tournament on 17 October as part of the annual Fiesta de la Rosa del Azafrán, a celebration that highlights the traditions and cultural identity of Consuegra, a town in the province of Toledo.
The competition featured five matches and saw approximately 30 players participate, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and community engagement. In the final standings, Pablo Santos claimed first place, followed by Ángel Rivero, known as 'Lito', in second, and Julián Nieto in third.
The Consuegra Town Hall congratulated all participants and award winners, acknowledging the efforts of the Consuegra Petanque Club in organising the event. This tournament not only promotes sporting activities but also enhances community bonds among residents and visitors, while enriching the offerings of the Fiesta de la Rosa del Azafrán, which plays a vital role in promoting and disseminating local traditions.
