On October 6, 2026, the Local Government Board of Móstoles approved the awarding of contracts for the expansion and renovation of the Caleidoscopio Cultural Center. This project will increase the center's surface area by approximately 50%.
The total investment for the project amounts to €2,974,685.52, funded by the Regional Investment Program (PIR) of the Community of Madrid. The plans include demolishing the existing theater and constructing a new, larger, and more versatile one that meets current performance needs.
“We continue our commitment to modernize and improve cultural facilities in Móstoles. The expansion of the Caleidoscopio Cultural Center will provide a new, larger, and more versatile theater, ready to host a diverse and high-quality cultural program. With an investment close to three million euros, we not only enhance the facilities and services we offer to residents but also contribute to revitalizing the center and its surroundings,” said Móstoles Mayor Manuel Bautista.
The new theater will feature a 12x10 meter flat stage, a fly system, a black box, perimeter walkways, and new installations tailored to current needs. Additionally, the project includes the installation of dressing rooms and rehearsal rooms, as well as acoustic treatment for walls and ceilings to accommodate theater performances, concerts, talks, conferences, film screenings, and dance events.
The remodeling project is based on three strategic pillars: the recovery of the theater, the construction of a new District Board 3, and the revitalization of the center and its surroundings.
