Daniel Morcillo, the councillor for Education and Educational Services, has officially opened the academic year at the Jiménez de Rada School of Toledo Studies. During the inauguration, Morcillo emphasised that “Toledo is a city with a remarkable heritage, and it is preserved by making it known, so that people can study and appreciate it.”
The curriculum aims to enhance the value of Toledo through theoretical classes and site visits, as Morcillo noted, “Toledo is the best setting to study and experience it firsthand.”
Morcillo also expressed gratitude for the “great interest shown, with over 300 applications for the 50 places available in this inaugural course.” The opening ceremony took place at the Padilla Civic Centre, where classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Finally, the councillor highlighted that the Jiménez de Rada School of Toledo Studies is designed to be a long-term initiative. Over the next three years, various subjects will be alternated to ensure “continuity over time” and to establish it as a consolidated institution within the city for many years to come,” Morcillo concluded.
