On October 6, 2026, the Piélagos Town Hall announced the upcoming children's theater production titled ‘La princesa y el dragón’, which focuses on themes of personal growth. This event is part of the municipality's efforts to address gender violence through cultural initiatives.
The performance will take place at the Vimenor Theater in Vioño on Friday, October 9, at 7:30 PM. The play is produced by Sol y Tierra Teatro Ecosocial, a company recognized for its artistic contributions, having received the Godot Award for Best Show from the Madrid Theater Network.
The story follows the Dragon Artimañas, who, tired of his lonely existence in a dark cave, decides to change his fate by pursuing what he believes is his duty as a dragon: to eat princesses. Meanwhile, Princess Valentina, living in the peaceful Kingdom of Tranquilia, is determined to face challenges to prove her true potential. She must first overcome her father's insistence on keeping her safe within the castle, believing she is unprepared to confront the feared Dragon. Despite her friend, the gardener Rimas, volunteering to calm Artimañas and protect Valentina, she refuses to remain passive. Ultimately, she gathers the courage to defy the expectations of those around her and confronts the Dragon herself.
