Gijón to host solidarity parade supporting women with breast cancer

The Sala Albéniz in Gijón will host the twelfth Solidarity Parade-Dance organised by the Casa de la Vida Bruno Salvadori on 19 October at 20:00. This initiative aims to raise awareness and acknowledge women who have faced breast cancer, while emphasising the importance of mutual support during their journey.

This event coincides with International Breast Cancer Day and marks the 18th anniversary of the Casa de la Vida Bruno Salvadori, an organisation that has provided a space for friendship and support for women affected by this illness for nearly two decades.

A tribute to women and their stories of resilience

The parade will feature women from the Casa de la Vida, who will share a day dedicated to celebrating life, friendship, and solidarity. Organisers highlight that behind each diagnosis lies a personal and familial story, often marked by challenges but also by experiences of hope and overcoming adversity.

Throughout its 18 years, the Casa de la Vida Bruno Salvadori has created an environment for sharing experiences and finding understanding among those who have faced similar situations. The parade aims to recognise this collective journey and remind attendees that emotional and social support is crucial for the well-being of those affected by cancer.

Entry fee and community involvement

The entry fee for the parade is set at €5, a nominal amount intended to encourage maximum participation. Synergy Clubs International has invited family members, friends, neighbours, and citizens from across Asturias to join this solidarity event, underscoring the value of feeling accompanied and recognised by society.

The organisation has also reached out to media outlets to help spread the word and raise awareness about breast cancer, the importance of prevention, and the need for support networks during illness.

Concluding the Synergy 2026 events

The Solidarity Parade-Dance follows the second International Synergy 2026 Congress, which focused on breast cancer, civil society, and life, bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers, university representatives, and social entities. The programme included a charity gala dinner held on 17 October at the Hotel Zentral Rey Pelayo in Gijón.

After these activities centred on knowledge, research, and awareness, the parade will highlight the experiences of women from the Casa de la Vida, emphasising the importance of human connections in the face of illness.
