08/10/2026 The XIV edition of the Gazte Artea Ezkerraldean program highlights the artistic talent of youth from the Margen Izquierda region, featuring proposals in painting, sculpture, and other disciplines that explore themes such as identity, body, and landscape.
The municipalities of Portugalete, Barakaldo, Sestao, and Santurtzi, along with the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia, are promoting this initiative as part of Bizkaia Gazteak, a program aimed at fostering emancipation, autonomy, integration, equality, participation, solidarity, cultural identity, and mobility among the youth of Bizkaia.
The XIV edition of Gazte Artea Ezkerraldean began its journey on October 2 in Portugalete, with an opening at the Gazte Gela, a municipal space for youth engagement that serves as a meeting point for young creators in the municipality.
The traveling exhibition features the work of four young artists from Ezkerraldea: Alec Butrón, Sara Fuica, Ysabela Scabarrozzi, and Arrate Jerez. Through their works, the exhibition offers diverse perspectives and artistic languages that reflect the concerns and expressions of the new generations of creators in the region.
After its stop in Portugalete, the exhibition will continue to Sestao in December, the hometown of artist Ysabela Scabarrozzi, who is participating in this edition alongside the other selected young artists. The Gazte Artea Ezkerraldean tour will then proceed to Barakaldo and Santurtzi, remaining active until January 29, 2027, bringing the work of these four artists to various spaces in the region and reinforcing the commitment of local and regional institutions to support young artistic creation.
