Flamenco & sal returns to Torrevieja with 'Gitanerías' on 18 October

The Jardines del Auditorio in Torrevieja will host the launch of the third edition of Flamenco & Sal on 18 October, featuring 'Gitanerías'. This event combines flamenco, gastronomy, and Mediterranean culture against the stunning backdrop of the Torrevieja salt flats.

Starting at 12:00, with doors opening at 11:00, 'Gitanerías' presents a vibrant showcase of singing, guitar, dancing, and percussion, offering a glimpse into the roots of flamenco. The performance will feature Juan Moreno on guitar, Antonio Heredia 'Monillo' on vocals, Yoni 'Remache' and Saray 'La Chaparra' on dance, alongside Xiki Jiménez on percussion and vocals. This ensemble aims to highlight the artistic contributions of the Romani community to the development of flamenco.

Gastronomic experiences expand

This year, Flamenco & Sal introduces new gastronomic offerings alongside its traditional free tastings of wine or cava. Attendees can enjoy products from two new partners: Señorío de Relleu olive oils and chocolates from Marcos Tonda. This enhances the experience, allowing guests to savour live flamenco performances paired with culinary delights rooted in Mediterranean tradition.

Additionally, the event will feature Spain Tasting Boxes, which can be purchased online to complement the Flamenco & Sal experience. Customers who buy a box will have the option to reserve a table for tastings during the event for an additional fee, with limited availability requiring prior reservation.

Upcoming performances

Following 'Gitanerías', the programme will continue on 8 November with 'Flamenco viene del Sur', showcasing various flamenco styles and celebrating Andalusian folklore. On 22 November, 'Santa Cruz' will highlight flamenco from the province of Alicante, performed by the La Guitarrería Santa Cruz flamenco group. The series will proceed on 19 December with 'Tablao Flamenco', emphasising the tablao as a natural setting for singing, guitar, and dance. The cycle will conclude on 26 December with 'La Mar Flamenca', a performance inspired by the Mediterranean, exploring the intersection of tradition and evolution in flamenco.

All events will take place at 12:00, with doors opening at 11:00, maintaining the unique format that blends performance with gastronomy. Tickets are priced at €15 and can be purchased online via culturatorrevieja.com and flamencoysal.es. The third edition of Flamenco & Sal promises five live flamenco encounters in a beautiful setting in Torrevieja, incorporating new culinary experiences while celebrating art, flavours, and Mediterranean culture.
