Móstoles is set to offer a rich cultural agenda this week, organized by the local government through the Department of Education and Culture. The program includes storytelling sessions, puppet shows, original version films, family cinema, oral narration, and theater performances.
The week kicks off on Tuesday, October 6, with "Mundo de papel," a storytelling session led by Aldo Méndez at the El Soto Sociocultural Center library, with two sessions at 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM. This story follows a child who learns that feeling jealousy is an act of violence and how words can empower one to become the ruler of their own home. Aldo Méndez will also present the same session on Wednesday, October 7, at the Almudena Grandes Central Library.
On Wednesday at 6:30 PM, the film "Vivir la tierra (Sheng xi zhi di, 2025)" will be screened at the Norte-Universidad Sociocultural Center as part of the Filmoteca cycle. This Chinese film tells the story of Chuang, a ten-year-old boy growing up with his relatives in his hometown while his parents work in the city, navigating the challenges of rural traditions in a modernizing China.
Thursday, October 8, will feature "¿Dónde estás Pin Pon?" a storytelling session for children aged six months to three years, accompanied by an adult, at the Almudena Grandes Central Library at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Additionally, the puppet show "Un paseo por el mar" will be performed by the company Los Gorriones at 6:00 PM at the El Soto Sociocultural Center. This interactive show follows Marina, a girl who discovers her father, the pirate Pilululero, is trapped in the ocean by trash.
On Friday, October 9, Aldo Méndez will present "Vivir para contarla," an oral storytelling session for young adults and adults at the Almudena Grandes Central Library as part of the EnCUENTrO Fridays series. This performance integrates traditional oral tales and Latin American literary stories, exploring the concept of life as a narrative that is retold and renewed with each telling.
Also on Friday, the El Soto Theater will host the play "El Horla" at 8:00 PM, produced by Pacific Producciones and featuring actors Elisa Marinas, Alejandro Sigüenza, and Miguel Camacho. The drama delves into mental health issues through the protagonist's experiences during her time in a neurology hospital, raising questions about memory, fear, and the nature of reality.
This weekend, on October 10 and 11, the family film "Los Futbolísimos 2: El misterio del tesoro pirata" will be screened as part of the family cinema cycle. The film will be shown on Saturday at 6:00 PM at the El Soto Sociocultural Center and on Sunday at 12:00 PM at the Norte-Universidad Sociocultural Center and at 6:00 PM at the Joan Miró Sociocultural Center. This sequel follows Pakete and his teammates from Soto Alto FC as they navigate challenges after losing their field due to a real estate scam.
The cultural agenda concludes on Sunday, October 11, with the family theater production "Mular (o la gran captura)" presented by Cinc Cèntims Teatre at the Villa de Móstoles Theater at 12:30 PM.
