Costa Daurada is showcasing its attractions this week at the World Travel Market in London, one of the leading events in the tourism sector. The Tourism Board of the Diputació de Tarragona is spearheading the region's presence at the fair with the goal of solidifying the British market and investigating opportunities in other promising markets, including Sweden and Denmark.
Representatives and technical staff from the Tourism Board are set to hold around fifteen meetings with key tourism agents, including airlines, travel agencies, marketing platforms, and specialised media. The British market ranks as the second largest international market for Costa Daurada, closely following the French market. Notably, it is the primary source market arriving at the destination via Reus Airport.
Between January and September, arrivals from the United Kingdom reached 548,000, reflecting a 2.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. However, the average length of stay has seen a slight decline from 4 days to 3.6 days.
Joint participation through the Córner Agreement
The region's participation in the fair is a collaborative effort involving several municipalities, businesses, and tourism associations from Costa Daurada, facilitated through the Córner model led by the Tourism Board of the Diputació de Tarragona. This approach allows for resource optimisation and collective promotion.
In addition to the Tourism Board, participants include the Municipal Tourism Boards of Calafell, Cambrils, Cunit, Vendrell - Coma-ruga, Salou, Tarragona, and Vila-seca, along with various associations and entities such as the Costa Daurada and Terres de l’Ebre Tourist Apartment Association, the Reus Chamber of Commerce, the Tarragona Camping Association, and the Tarragona Hospitality and Tourism Business Federation.
The Costa Daurada brand also features its own space within the Catalonia stand. Furthermore, the Tourism Board is participating in an event hosted by the Catalan Tourism Agency to promote Catalan gastronomy among key players in the British tourism sector. This year, the menu has been designed by Laia Coma, chef at Mare de la Font in Solsona, and Moha Quarch, chef at El Terrat in Tarragona.
