Cabildo de La Palma launches TriJazz music cycle featuring Salitres, Maravijazz and Marta Bautista Trío

The Cabildo de La Palma has announced the launch of TriJazz, a new music cycle dedicated to jazz trios. The inaugural edition will take place from 31 October to 14 November, featuring performances by Salitres, Maravijazz, and Marta Bautista Trío in Santa Cruz de La Palma and Los Llanos de Aridane.

Miriam Perestelo, the councillor for Culture and Cultural Heritage, emphasised that the initiative aims to enhance the island's cultural programming and introduce audiences to various interpretations of jazz through three distinct groups, each with their own styles and backgrounds.

Perestelo also noted that hosting concerts in different municipalities allows for the use of the island's cultural spaces as venues for live music, making high-quality artistic proposals more accessible to the public.

The cycle will kick off on Saturday, 31 October, with a performance by Salitres at 20:00 in the Museum of Art in Santa Cruz de La Palma. On Friday, 6 November, Maravijazz will perform at the Benahoarita Archaeological Museum in Los Llanos de Aridane, also at 20:00. This group, led by pianist Augusto Báez, features musicians with extensive experience in the Canary Islands' jazz scene.

The cycle will conclude on Saturday, 14 November, with a performance by Marta Bautista Trío, scheduled for 20:00 at the Museum of Art in Santa Cruz de La Palma. This trio, consisting of Marta Bautista, Carla Vega, and Tanausú Santana, blends jazz with various musical influences and includes tributes to prominent female voices in the genre.
