The city council of Alicante, in collaboration with Aguas Municipalizadas de Alicante, has announced the return of its annual autumn trails programme, which includes a tour of the historic centre of Alicante and a bird ringing activity in the floodable park of La Marjal.
Manuel Villar, the councillor for environmental sustainability, highlighted that this year's programme introduces a new water route in the itinerary through the historic centre, featuring visits to fountains, the Pozos de Garrigós, and the Museum of Water.
Villar noted, “We are bringing back an activity that generates great interest, such as the bird ringing in the floodable park of La Marjal.”
The programme will kick off on Sunday, 25 October, with a hike through Monte Benacantil, followed by the scientific bird ringing activity in La Marjal on 8 November. The activities will conclude on 22 November with a guided visit to the Museum of Water and the Pozos de Garrigós.

- Sunday, 25 October (10:00 AM) - Hike through Monte Benacantil. Meeting point: 09:45 AM near the old CEAM Benacantil.
- Sunday, 8 November (10:00 AM) - Itinerary through La Marjal floodable park and scientific bird ringing. Meeting point: 09:45 AM at the main viewpoint of La Marjal Park.
- Sunday, 22 November (10:00 AM) - Visit to the Museum of Water in Alicante – Pozos de Garrigós and itinerary through the historic centre. Meeting point: 09:45 AM at the entrance by Plaza del Puente.
